Specialist residential dementia care and day care facility

Blyford Residential Home provides specialist residential care for people with dementia as well as day care facilities for the elderly local population. The single-storey home is fully wheelchair accessible and has been refurbished to the highest possible standard. Residents suites have their own front doors, lounges, dining areas and conservatory spaces. Residents’ rooms come with en-suite facilities and comfortable furniture and televisions. Outside there is a secure and attractive garden and patio for residents and visitors to enjoy. The 37 bed care home is now fully functional and approved by the Care Quality Commision (CQC). 

 

The home is working closely with the NHS Continuing Care Team in collaboration with James Paget University Hospital to reduce the bed shortage at the hospital. The aim is to reduce the number of patients occupying hospital beds after they have been discharged from the hospitals care, and to improve patients overall quality of life by quickly settling vulnerable dementia patients discharged from hospital into the dignified and caring atmosphere of Blyford.
